What Is A Periodontist?
Dr. Rodica Grasu & Dr. Elissa Green are Periodontists, dentists who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, and in the placement and care of dental implants. Periodontists are also experts in the treatment of oral inflammation. Periodontists receive extensive training in these areas, including three additional years of education beyond dental school. They are familiar with the latest techniques for diagnosing and treating periodontal disease and are also trained in performing cosmetic periodontal procedures and dental implant procedures.
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants are an ideal option for people who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason.
While high-tech in nature, dental implants are actually more tooth-saving than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support.
Assess Your Risk of Gum Disease
The American Academy of Periodontology’s risk assessment test will help you see if you are at risk for having or developing periodontal (gum) disease. Millions of people don’t know they have this serious infection that can lead to tooth loss if not treated.
Dr. Grasu & Dr. Green specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease.
Our office has incorporated the Morita Scan imaging solution from Morita.
